Monday, the 9th May 2011
Wednesday, the 11th May 2011
Friday, the 13th May 2011

Please wear suitable clothes and comfortable shoes as per the weather conditions In Black forest, it is always a few degrees colder than in Lörrach.

From Lörrach, this year we are attracted towards the high location of south black forest. The beautiful region is now awakening after a long winter time - the spring catches into the high valleys. And in the midst of the fresh, light green grassland there is the...

Resenhof

If one enters theliving room, it feels like one has gone back in time. During the tour of these 1789 built high black forests roof yard, there is much to discover which brings us close to the life of black forest farmers.

The Resenhof has well remained in its original condition and is such an impressive evidence of those times. This beautiful, historical hut with its low ceilings, its tiled stove with integrated seating bench and the attached cattle sheds give us an impression of how people lived and worked in former times.

After the sightseeing, we rejuvenate ourselves while having a small lunch. In a typical restaurant we shall take our meal together. In one of the restaurants`rooms with its pleasant ambiance, we will get engaged with specialities and products from the nature park south Black Forest. Genuine black forests hospitality is visible here.

The journey leads us through the impressing landscape of the black forest to the lake ...

Titisee

The name Titisee was mentioned for the first time in 1050 AD in a document of the monastery “Allerheiligen zu Schaffhausen” . According to a legend, the Roman general Titus resided in the area of Titisee and gave the beautiful lake its name. Due to its unique layer, the seasonally changing water colour of dark green over light blue to impenetrable black, there are a lot of  sagas and stories entwining around the lake - however, we can tell more about this only at the location.

The Titisee with its famous esplanades is one of the most popular destinations of tourism in Southern Germany. The promenade along the lake invites for a walk. In typical Black Forest shops, one can buy anything which is connected to the Black Forest. Cuckoo clocks, black forests ham, souvenirs and even during summer there is Christmas decoration available.
Numerous Cafes with view over the lake are inviting you to stay and enjoy the very tasty black forest cake.

The low building development, the closeness to the mountain “Feldberg” and the characteristic houses and specialities will certainly leave behind unforgettable moments.

If the weather conditions are fine we might be able to see the Alps when we come to pass the mountain ”Feldberg” on our way back. Passing through untouched nature, rock formations and lovely rivers, it once again goes to the lovely “Markgräfler Land” -  back to Lörrach.

We look forward to you joining our tour.

 „Swiss Tour“

Tuesday, the 10th May 2011
Thursday, the 12th May 2011

Please wear suitable clothes and comfortable shoes as per the weather conditions. We will be walking on unpaved country roads.

The "Swiss tour" of this year will take us on an impressive time travel through 2000 years of history of the tri-bordering region. Together, we shall also visit the excavation places which are probably the best known Roman colony of the northern Alps:

Augusta Raurica

This ancient city founded approximately 15 BC by the Emperor Augustus had more than 15000 inhabitants during its period of prosperity and was built over an area of over 1 km². During a short visit through the extensive excavation area, we experience very valuable knowledge about the life and culture in this strategically important town, which had to offer all conveniences of the then time to all its inhabitants. Between the historical stages of the former Curia, where once the well to do superior members of the oligarchic governing council used to meet, a lovely midday Roman meal waits for us.

Freshly energised, we continue our journey, which takes us directly into the city centre of Basel, where an informative ...

Ship round trip with the ”Weiße Flotte Basel”

... is waiting for us. In relaxed atmosphere on the ship, we glide past along the medieval old part of town, leaving the renowned “Tinguely Museum” behind us and dip into the fascinating world of the modern Basle harbour facilities.

Back at the shore invites the unique historic centre of Basle with its pictorial row of houses and narrow lanes to stay back there. Whether you are going for a cosy stroll yourself on an exploration tour or  you rather observe the colourful drive with a flavoured cup of coffee and delicious pastry at one of the popular Cafe is entirely in your hands - Basel in any case is worth a trip.
